Universal Studios Florida

The original film-themed park (from their Hollywood original), this goes into the movies in style, with great rides and shows, plus some highly original street entertainment and excellent play areas for the youngest members of the family. The rides vary from the truly thrilling (roller-coaster Revenge of the Mummy) to the truly mild, while the shows are equally imaginative (don't miss Shrek 4-D) but there is a more adventurous, edgy approach than at Disney, and teens in particular find Universal more to their taste. The crowds build up quickly here in high season, hence it may take more than a day to get around.
Time needed: 1–2 days
